Marton 0 Stockton Town U16's 7
07/04/2008
Goal Scorers Fred Woodhouse x 3, Hal White x2, Luke Johnson, Nathan Clarke
Man Of The Match Hal White

Written By Wayne Dennis

Stockton were looking to bounce back from their setback against St Francis against the team lying third in the League.

Stockton looked bright from the start and some of their football was outstanding.

The first goal came from a ball played forward by Mike Harwood. Grant Lake laid off a first time pass to the right where Hal White raced forward, beat the full back and crossed for Fred Woodhouse to side foot home.

The second quickly followed when great work by Fred Woodhouse down the left was met at the back post by a Nathan Clarke header.

The third came soon afterwards when a half cleared corner was played out to Hal White on the right. He cut inside and smashed a great shot into the roof of the net.

Marton were rarely threatening now and they conceded a fourth just before half time when Fred Woodhouse scored with a penalty after Nathan Clarke was tripped in the box.

The second half saw Stockton further increase their lead when Luke Johnson rose to power a header in from a Tom Portas corner.

James Casey then brought two great saves out of the Marton keeper as Stockton continued to dominate the game.

It wasn’t long before Tom Portas broke down the right and his cross was met on the volley by Fred Woodhouse who completed his hat trick.

Stockton completed the scoring when Hal White, now playing down the left, cut into the penalty area and finished with his right foot.

There were a lot of outstanding performances in the Stockton team, notably from Fred Woodhouse with a hat trick, Tom Portas, Luke Johnson, James Nicholson, Nathan Clarke and Michael Harwood.

However the Man of the Match Award went to Hal White who was outstanding on the day.
